We go through our days, getting things done that need to get done, hardly thinking that it might be the last time we do them. Truth is we're not prepared - or ready - to admit that possibility.

Six years ago today, I was neither prepared nor ready for what this day would hold.

Life doesn’t come with any promises or guarantees, yet we live like it does, don’t we?

We buy groceries for weekly menus. We make plans for next month. We buy plane tickets for a trip a few months away. We have dreams of great adventures that we hope will happen one day. And we expect that whoever we are doing these things with will be there, too.
