As I continue to move right on through my 60s, Death is becoming a kind of companion. Not one that scares, threatens, or judges me, but like a dear friend who walks alongside me and lovingly whispers,
“Does this align with your values, with your authentic self?”
"Is this how you want to spend this breath, to live moment?
Death encourages me to pay attention to what I focus on, to where I spend my time and energy. Not so that I will leave a particular legacy, but so that my remaining years are lived with authenticity and being at peace with myself. So when it’s time to take my final breath, I will be satisfied with the life I’ve lived.
